Or don't.
Sure, Saturday's loss to the Predators was one of the five worst games that they've played in the last 15 years. I don't know how you would rank or gauge such things, but that doesn't matter. You saw it. You know how badly your balls hurt ("feelings" to our lady readers) afterward. If this game was at the tail end of a losing streak, I'd be screaming about how the sky is not only falling, but it's also giving everyone herpes.
Losing 8-0 to Nashville is beyond unacceptable. But it's not irreparably damaging either. If this shit was completely out of your realm of imagination, you're watching the wrong sport. It happens, it's just always this bad.
...
I'm more than confident (a rarity around here) that the Wings are going to absolutely destroy the Blues tomorrow night. I'm thinking something in the ballpark of 6 to 1-ish.
But while I'm not overreacting to the travesty of Saturday night. I'm 100% prepared to overreact to whatever happens in St. Louis tomorrow. I'm looking for signs. Last year we had a pretty good grip on what kind of team this was -- in fact, the '07 and '08 teams almost blend together in that you could see the collective hunger on a nightly basis -- but we've been in the fog with the '09 squad. Tomorrow isn't going to solve jack shit, but if they come out on fire, angry, and showing just how fucking humiliating it is to lose 8-0 to the Nashville Predators, we might have a better idea who these people are. If the effort looks remotely mundane, then I'll panic. I just don't think that's going to happen, though.

A sentence I never thought I'd hear:
"Dan Cleary and Wayne Gretzky are part of the reason Kris Draper has been more productive offensively of late" (Freep).
